Boo Boo Davis belongs to the last generation of blues men that write and play the blues based on first hand experience of a hard life in the Mississippi Delta. He was born and raised in Drew, in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. It was the richest cotton land in the South and the large amounts of field workers attracted the best musicians from the surrounding areas. The entire Delta region was rich with blues, but the town of Drew was a particularly fertile one.
On this record you’ll hear: Boo Boo Davis on vocals & harmonica, John Gerritse on drums and Jan Mittendorp on guitar.

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene, who has been hailed by The New York Times as “the Prince of Americana” and by All Music as “prodigiously gifted,” will make his Yep Roc Records  debut with the release his first studio album in five years, Back To Birth.
“Musically, this record is kind of a return to the simplicity that I started with, although I feel like I have a much better idea of what I’m doing now,” Greene observes. “I think the lyrics are the part that’s really evolved. A lot of these songs are looking at the notion of a cyclical existence, and the sense that life goes in a circle.”

On Bob Malone’s new album Mojo Deluxe, the keyboardist whacks listeners’ ears to attention with the skill he has honed over a lifetime of playing blues, soul and rock ‘n roll, reminding us that real blues music comes not from the instruments but from the feeling behind each note.Mojo Deluxe arrives as Malone’s eighth solo album, the first of which was released 14 years ago. When he’s not working on solo projects, the Los Angeles-based artist can be found supporting musician friends onstage, including John Fogerty, whom Malone has toured with for four years.
