The album includes the celebrated song This City, written for the HBO Original Series, Treme, which Earle also appears in as an actor. This City features horn arrangements by Allen Toussaint and has garnered a Grammy® Award Nomination in the Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media category. Other highlights include the ballad Every Part of Me and the ode to those who make their living on the The Gulf Of Mexico.

New and fourth LP Celebration, Florida is an exhilarating amalgamation of frightening horn sections, unexpected 808s, ambient synth lines, schoolyard taunts, booming, primitive drum beats, heavy bass lines, piano, violin, accordion, ringing guitars, rave beats, and sinister acid jazz that captivates and mystifies. Recorded in the library and theater of Beacon, NYs old high school, the band explores a multitude of sounds and instru-mentation throughout the expansive album. Its inspired, imaginative, heady, menacing, passionate, and rollicking. Most importantly, its as steadfastly authentic as ever, expanding upon the dark, woozy undercurrent of ramshackle barroom blues, vaudevillian atmospherics, and surreal storytelling of their previousalbums. Celebration, Florida revels in this inventive, outlaw spirit; its the sound of a band that knows its roots and knows where its growing. Its a group who just might expand the definition of Americana music along the way. Celebration, Florida casts scenes of dreamy characters and stories interwoven like a block of primetime TV. Among the tales: a young woman who sets off to find a secret paradise; a teenager who enters a boxing gym in Catskill, NY; a late night host recounting his rise to fame to his honeybee while traveling in a private jet and much more and beyond.

Hot Tuna is back with Steady As She Goes, their first all-new studio album in 20 years! Founding members Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady masterfully blend Americana rock with blues and acoustic folk on a record that hits their full spectrum of styles from electric and acoustic Hot Tuna to their days in Jefferson Airplane. Reaching a zenith of their historic career, Steady As She Goes is an absolute masterpiece.During their more than four decade long career Jorma and Jack have created some of the most significant music of our time and Steady As She Goes proves that they remain one of the most innovative bands in American music. Recorded at Levon Helm’s studio and produced by Grammy-winning producer Larry Campbell, the album captures the energy of their live performances with Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin, drummer Skoota Warner (Cyndi Lauper, Matisyahu, Santana) as well as Campbell joining them on guitar, fiddle, organ and vocals. With their amps turned up to eleven, Hot Tuna rips into the blistering opener “Angel of Darkness” and puts the wind in your sails with the `hop on your Harley and take to the road’ free-spirit jams like “Easy Now Revisited” and “A Little Faster.” Steady As She Goes tastefully mixes in the acoustic side of Tuna with folk tunes like the moving “What Might Have Been” and the reflective “Second Chances.” Along with masterful covers of the blues-rock infused “If This is Love” and a funky rendition of Reverend Gary Davis’ “Children of Zion” Steady As She Goes is an iconic record that Hot Tuna fans have been waiting for!

“I recorded killers and stars, by myself in the dining room of the house where i was living, in early March, 2001. I had just gotten divorced, was fighting with the band (Drive-By Truckers) and a good number of my friends. I was feeling pretty freaked out and isolated and this album was my therapy. Most of the songs were new. I recorded the album in two consecutive nights, then ran down some rough mixes myself (with no outboard sweetening at all) about a week later. I hastily pressed up a few hundred copies, made a cover for them, and sold them at my solo shows as a ‘1st draft/work in progress.’…Paterson Hood

This release of the Alabama foursome’s 1999 sophomore record picks up where its debut album Gangstabilly (also re-issued by New West Records) left off–fruitful storyteller Patterson Hood and his cotton-drawl vocals bobbing and weaving through the trepidations and peculiarities of his life in the Deep South. The Truckers abstain from some of the white-trash bulls-eyes and volume 11 blasters on their debut for a 14-song hootenanny about riding bulldozers in red clay, a reclusive uncle, giving up sex for the Lord, and a Memphis performance by the late shock-rocker G.G. Alin .The bluesy sing-a-long “Nine Bullets” features one round of lead for each of Hood’s adversaries, but two songs later he harmoniously reminisces his great-grandmother in “Box of Spiders.” It’s a remarkable divergence that drives Pizza Deliverance and sets the table for the Southern Rock Opera that comes next. – Scott Holter

“The Love Songs” was originally released in 1988 and is the fourth reissue from Fire Records. Often called Giant Sand’s best album of their early period, 1988’s “The Love Songs” features an expressiveness and songwriting maturity that rivals Bob Dylan. “Giant Sand is a mood,” says Howes of Giant Sands, as if trying to offer a low-key explanation for his dizzying array of artistic exploration that includes a back-catalogue of some 40 albums as a singer, band-leader and producer. After growing up in Pennsylvania in the 1970s, it wasn’t until he moved to Tuscon, Arizona that he met his musical soul mate, the guitarist Rainer Ptaceck. The two formed Giant Sandworms and issued only a handful of recordings before the worms were put to rest: since then, Giant Sand have released 24 albums – an impressive haul when considering Howe’s equally prolific output under other projects including Black Ranchette and Arizona Amp & Alternator as well as his solo releases.
